WHO ARE WE?
We are two brothers, Martin and Richard Olšar from the Czech Republic, who have been making a living as carpentry for many years.
Making our own wooden bike was a desire for change and an opportunity to use our craftsmanship in something we really enjoy .
From idea to journey: the story of the first SAORSA frame
I'm not exactly a passionate cyclist. But I've had the idea of a wooden bike in my head for a long time. Finally, I made my dream come true and in 2022 I built the first prototype of the SAORSA "Zero" frame .
Without a single test, I got on and set off for a test drive – not around the house, but straight to France . 700 kilometers off the asphalt, far from people, often over difficult terrain.
It was challenging. And sometimes quite uncomfortable – especially for certain parts of the body, but no untrained cyclist can avoid that. Once I stopped feeling the pain, I enjoyed the ride like never before.
When I returned home, I was clear - I don't want to ride another bike .

The wooden frame also caught the attention of David aka Trail Hunter
We got a tip and said: why not give it a try? We asked David if he would like to test our frame . To our pleasant surprise, he agreed – and that led to the first interview , in which we discussed the whole story of the creation of SAORSA Bike.
